What is an atom? An atom is the smallest characteristic particule of an element. An atom has the chemcil properties of the element.
What are the particules that make up an atom, list their mass and charge? Proton- Positive charge, Neutron- No charge and Electron- Negative charge
What is the size of the atom? An atom is around .1 nanometer or 100 picometers. Smallest atom is hydrogen and largest atom is lanthanum. If an atom is an ion, it will also change its radius signifcantly. (Positive ions are smaller and negative ions are larger then the neutral atom)
What is the shape of an atom, where are the particles? The shape of the atom is kind of spherical. In the center of the atom is the nucleus which holds the protons and neutrons and on the outside of the atom are the electrons.
What are the characteristics of electrons? Negative charge and located on outer shell.
