This element is a Lithium (Li) atom. the atomic number for Li is 3 and the atomic mass is 6.941 approx. making 7. In this diagram i have the nuclues and in the middle of the nucleus is the protons and neutrons. The protons are a +3 and the neutrons are 4. Neutrons have no positve or negative charge. Lastly, on the outside of this diagram are the electrons. These electrons are a -3 having a negative charge.
The protons and nucleus will add up to equal 7 which is the atomic mass and the protons and electrons will always be the same number because they are two opposites because one has a negative charge and the other has a positive charge.
