Why did balloons get bigger when the pump was turned on? What was happening at the molecular level?

(Taking molecules from outside the balloon away which is then allowing the balloon to get bigger.
The balloon got bigger when the pumped turned on because of of the pump turning on allow the molecules to move outward of the container. As the molecules are living it is allowing the balloons to expand. When closing the air pump allows the balloons to expand and get bigger. No temperature change in the container.

At the molecular level believe it was rising because it was making hte molecules move which was then causing the balloon to expand and get bigger.
